What happens at Summer Day Camp?
Do you ask your child what they did at camp today and hear “I don’t know” in response? We know you love seeing pictures on our social media accounts so you can learn what your camper is doing while they are here. To help you envision the day, we have some details below.
7:30 EXTENDED DAY DROP OFF: If you signed up for Extended Day, campers are welcome to arrive at 7:30am and will be greeted by our enthusiastic counselors to kickstart their exciting day!
8:45 CAMP DROP OFF: For campers not enrolled in morning care, drop off begins at 8:45am with a quick check-in before we gather everyone together and head off to camp rooms, where the fun begins!
9:00 MORNING: We don’t waste any time and jump right into age-appropriate hands-on activities that range from science experiments, art projects, games, and more. Campers will have some down time and free play as well. The activities available on any given day will include art projects, gym play, and board games. Our 5th-7th grade campers will enjoy visiting Parish’s STEM facilities, such as our Innovation Studio and VR and Design Commons to engage in mini-coding, use the Cricut for fun personalized projects, try 3D modeling, and explore virtual worlds. We encourage campers to find what appeals to them within our schedule each day. As a bonus, each Wednesday, K – 7th grade campers will enjoy water day, including giant water slides and other water activities and outdoor play. On Fridays, PreK- 7th grade campers will say farewell to another great week of Day Camp with our Friday Fun Day!
12:00 CARPOOL AND LUNCH: At noon, some campers go to carpool and the rest go to lunch. Lunch is held in the school’s cafeteria for everyone other than PreK campers, who eat in their camp rooms. Lunch is available for purchase.
12:30 AFTERNOON: After lunch, we get back to fun – campers return to their rooms to engage in new activities and recess time. PreK campers will take a brief nap before beginning their afternoon activities. On Wednesdays, K – 7th grade campers will re-visit the waterslides and PreK-7th grade campers will enjoy ice cold treats. Each Thursday, the 5th – 7th grade campers will go on a field trip to a nearby destination. On Fridays, we say farewell to another great week of Day Camp by enjoying Friday Fun Day!
3:30 CARPOOL AND EXTENDED DAY: Some campers go home and others stay with us a bit longer. For campers who stay in Extended Day, they play games and participate in activities.
So, when you see the smiles as your camper laughs and says goodbye to their friends, just know they had a busy, fun-filled day!
Parish Summer Day Camp is staffed by Parish faculty, staff, and Parish alum and students. All staff have passed background checks and have completed safety and compliance training. And, they’re all CPR certified!
