Campers will learn the basics of weaving from picking their own warp strings to creating unique and colorful patterns with their wefts.
Join Parish Lower School art teacher Samantha Cooper to create a floor loom weaving. This traditional artform is rarely taught in the classroom which makes this camp a special opportunity to learn about a rewarding craft with a rich history.
Campers will start by learning how to create a plain weave and then will progress to different twill patterns until they become comfortable with the treadling and can create their own designs. Campers will take home either multiple weavings or one long piece depending on their progress throughout the week.
