Are you interested in sports, healthcare, or just learning valuable life-saving skills? Our Sports Medicine Summer Course is the perfect opportunity for students to gain practical knowledge in sports injury care, injury prevention, and general healthcare skills.

This course is required for any student who wishes to serve as a student athletic trainer for fall or winter sports teams, including football, field hockey, volleyball, soccer, and basketball. Certification is also valid for spring sports, making it an essential step for aspiring trainers.

This one trimester course counts .333 credits toward Parish graduation requirements, and it fulfills one third of the required Athletics credits for graduation. The course is graded PASS/FAIL.

Attendance Expectations & Requirements

Students must attend an orientation session, FOUR of the six in-person sessions, and a Final Project to receive CPR certification

In-Person Orientation

  • Wednesday, May 7th at 4:15 pm
    New Parish students who are unable to attend one of the two intro meetings should contact Mr. Jeff Geier (jgeier@parish.org) to make other arrangements.

In-Person Sessions (must attend at least FOUR)
All sessions are from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

  • Week 1:        Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9
  • Week 2:        Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16
  • Week 3:        Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23

In-Person Final Project: CPR Certification (Must attend)

  • Wednesday, July 30 (10:30 am -12:30 pm)
