Explore rich religious traditions from around the world through the medium of art!
We will study different religious traditions through their myths, stories, and traditional art practices. Campers will then engage in these traditions by creating their own art projects that model and celebrate these traditions. This session we will look at how some religions use artistic practices for mindfulness, devotion, and meditation. We will look at stained glass in Christian cathedrals, geometric patterns in Islamic art, and Mithila painting traditions in India. Campers will create meditation bead strings, mock stained-glass panels, and their own story through Mithila practices. Campers from any religious background are welcome!
