During this camp, rising 3rd and 4th grade students will build on grade-level reading and comprehension skills such as making connections, predictions, inferences, and sequencing.
Each day, campers will focus on different stories and characters. Campers will also write every morning, in both cursive and print, to build fine motor skills and to practice writing mechanics, spelling, punctuation and capitalization. Each day will feature a different writing topic. The Writer’s Workshop, led by Parish 4th grade teacher Lauren Smyth, is designed to foster self-esteem, create enthusiasm for humanities, and help fight the summer slump! Academy Workshops are capped to ensure a small student to teacher ratio.
