During this camp, rising 6th grade students will make significant progress on one of their summer reading selections, Gordon Korman’s Ungifted.
Each day students will have time to read in a variety of settings. Then, we will dive into different aspects of literature such as the exploration of characters, setting, conflict, and theme. Along the way, readers will work on strengthening grade-level comprehension skills and learn annotation strategies to enhance understanding. Students are expected to come to class prepared and willing to participate, to try their best, and to ask questions. At the week’s end, a progress report and activities completed will be sent home.
