In this course, students create their own magic through crafts, practice, and demonstrations, while learning to share the fun with others. All props and materials are provided. By the end of the class, each student will have the knowledge and ability to perform their tricks for friends and family.
This semester, students will experience Series I of the Magic Explorers class, where they will mix up a monster and piece it back together, invent a new candy in the candy factory, and teleport indigenous animals to their respective countries.
Classes will include the following topics:
- Week 1: Super Spinners – Explore optical illusions and create spinners.
- Week 2: Presto Paint – Mix colors and practice “mind reading” color choices.
- Week 3: Toy Box – Learn responsibility and perform a toy guessing trick.
- Week 4: Magic Carpet – Discover gems with a “magic carpet” trick.
- Week 5: Torn & Restored – Celebrate Valentine’s with a broken heart that’s magically restored.
- Week 6: Funny Money – Explore the history of money and “double” paper bills.
- Week 7: Alien Decoder – Decode English words as if teaching an alien.
- Week 8: Wacky Weather – Learn about weather with magical weather changes.
- Week 9: Crazy Caterpillars – Use optical illusions as a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly.
- Week 10: Color Changing Wands – Perform magic with wands that change color.
- Week 11: Jumping Frog – Try origami and make a jumping frog.
- Week 12: Making Music – Match instruments to sounds and change notes.
- Week 13: Picnic Baskets – Study healthy eating with a fun food-guessing trick.
- Week 14: Easter Eggs – Watch eggs appear, disappear, and multiply.
- Week 15: Wonky Rockets – Explore space and the magic of levitation.
- Week 16: Mother’s Day – Create flowerpots for Mother’s Day.
- Week 17: Review & Graduation – Practice magic from the course and earn a certificate.
