This camp helps rising third and fourth grade students develop math automaticity which is a combination of fluency, accuracy and speed.
Campers will engage in evidence based multi-sensory activities which employ Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract methodology. This proven technique builds upon a student’s existing understanding and helps them progress to more abstract concepts such as fractions. Number sense is developed by exploring estimation, number bonds and subitizing. Students will also develop fact fluency through the appropriate practice of retrieval strategies.
