This upbeat and energetic class introduces students to the fundamentals of jazz dance while building strength, flexibility, and musicality.
Dancers will explore classic jazz technique through dynamic warm-ups, across-the-floor progressions, and fun, stylized combinations. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment, coordination, and rhythm, with age-appropriate choreography that encourages confidence and creativity. Perfect for students ready to take their skills to the next level while having fun in a supportive, engaging environment!
*Dancers will participate in the 14th Annual Parish Extend Dance Academy Performance on May 16. A rehearsal is scheduled for May 15. The class fee includes the costume for the performance.
Attire: Black leotard (tank or spaghetti straps) or black fitted tank/t-shirt, black jazz pants or leggings, tan split-sole jazz shoes, and hair pulled away from the face.
