This course consists of two parts. The first step is a 32-hour online driver education course which must be completed first, and fulfills Texas' classroom requirement for driver education.
Coursework can be done at any time, from any computer with an internet connection. Students must be 14 years old to begin the classroom portion, but may not test for their permit until the age of 15.
Once a permit is obtained, the next step in our program is a 14-hour behind-the-wheel course, consisting of 7 hours of driving and 7 hours of observation. This fulfills the state’s instructor-led driving requirements.
Driving sessions are typically scheduled during students’ free periods at school, keeping weekends and evenings free for other activities. If preferred, families may also schedule sessions outside school hours, based on instructor availability.
After completing the course, the state requires an additional 30 hours of supervised driving with an adult over 21, including 10 hours at night.
Please download, complete and return the form below (it will also be attached to your confirmation email) to Andrew Jennings as part of the enrollment process. You should not begin the course without completing and submitting this contract.
