Get ready to dance through time! In this high-energy, upbeat class, students will explore the iconic dance styles that defined each decade of the past century.
Each week highlights a different era – think Swing from the ’40s, Disco from the ’70s, the Moonwalk from the ’80s, and Line Dancing from the ’90s – complete with the music, moves, and attitude that made them unforgettable.
Along the way, dancers will build rhythm, coordination, and musicality while discovering how dance reflects pop culture through the ages. Perfect for anyone who loves to move, have fun, and try something new each week – no experience required, just bring your energy and enthusiasm!
*Dancers will participate in the 14th Annual Parish Extend Dance Academy Performance on May 16. A rehearsal is scheduled for May 15. The class fee includes the costume for the performance.
Attire: Black leotard, pink tights, pink split-sole ballet shoes, and tan split-sole jazz shoes. Hair should be pulled away from the face.
