This one-week camp empowers rising juniors/seniors to make a lasting impact on educational equity while gaining a deeper understanding of social responsibility in their community.
Join us for a transformative one-week camp dedicated to promoting educational equity in our community. In partnership with United to Learn—a Dallas-based nonprofit committed to closing opportunity gaps in public elementary schools —high school students will engage in meaningful service projects that directly support local schools. Participants will gain insights into systemic challenges faced by under-resourced schools and collaborate on initiatives to enhance learning environments and resources. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and mentorship, campers will develop leadership skills and a deeper understanding of social responsibility. By the end of the week, students will have made a tangible impact on educational equity in Dallas and be empowered to continue advocating for change.
This camp aligns with United to Learn’s mission to mobilize the community in closing opportunity gaps in Dallas public elementary schools.
Note that participation in this service-learning project fulfills the 15 community service hours required for rising juniors. Rising seniors may also fulfill this requirement with this camp but need to discuss with Parish’s Director of Community Service, Shannon Longfield, to confirm before signing up.
Students will need to provide their own transportation to school and to off-site volunteering.
