We've got spirit, yes, we do! Grab your pom poms and get ready to learn jumps, cheers, stunts, gymnastics, and power tumbling.
This program will introduce challenging elements such as half to full liberty’s, basket toss, barrel rolls, round off back handsprings, front tucks, back tucks and various combination skills. Students will also learn front hurdler jumps, straddle toe touch, and double nine. All jumps will start with a prep before the jump. Coach Ty will customize the curriculum to the experience of each student.
Classes will focus on the following skills:
Weeks 1-2:
- Drills: T-snap downs and jump practice
- Review last year’s stunts and introduce two new stunts
Weeks 3-4:
- Tumbling: Synchronize skills for a routine
Weeks 5-6:
- Stretch machine workout and endurance laps
- Focus on each child’s most challenging tumbling skills
Weeks 7-8:
- Voice Projection: Compare cheering indoors vs. outdoors
- Record and review voices to help fine-tune projection
Weeks 9-10:
- Learn a new cheer, stunt, and jumps
- 6th graders focus on cheer tryout skills
Weeks 11-12:
- Routine Practice: Combine tumbling, jumps, stunts, and cheer to music
Week 13:
- Optional Day: Students choose what they want to practice
