Smart Girls Read
Do you love to read? Do you love to talk about books? Do you read more in the summer? If so, Smart Girls Read is the place to be for you this summer. We will read one book a month (June, July, August) and meet to discuss the book and its themes while making new friends!
For our July event, we’ll be reading The Girl Who Drank The Moon by Kelly Barnhill. The Girl Who Drank the Moon is a 2016 fantasy novel for middle school readers. The story follows a young girl named Luna, who is accidentally enmagicked as a baby. As Luna grows, she struggles to recover important things she has lost: her memories, her mother, and her magic.
Discussion is facilitated by Dr. Kelly Jameson, a therapist and speaker in Dallas who specializes in teens! Dr. Jameson has loved reading since middle school when she was captivated by books series The Babysitter’s Club and Sweet Valley High. She has been reading ever since and believes books help us better understand ourselves and the world around us. Sign up today to reserve your spot!
This event is for rising 5th-8th grade girls.
